As a patient care technician (PCT), you’ll be one of our most intimate points of contact, dealing directly with patients and giving them comfort, guidance and hope. The PCT’s role is critical to monitoring treatment parameters and reporting any changes in patient condition. But most importantly, as a PCT you’ll be the source of calm our patients feel, reminding them that there’s a team of experts working tirelessly with their best possible care at heart.

There is no substitute for proper nutritional support, and our dietitians change and improve the lives of patients and, their families and significant others in this critical role. Whether a patient chooses in-center or home dialysis, they depend on you for constant comfort and ongoing guidance with all aspects of their nutrition. Our patients need you to support their diet therapy through end stage renal disease, peritoneal dialysis and transplantation, as well as to review monthly lab work and help implement both short- and long-term plans of care.

They need the counseling and guidance of our dynamic social workers to help them cope with the issues that chronic kidney disease brings. As integral members of our collaborative patient care team, our social workers connect with patients and their families and help bring them through the emotional, behavioral and lifestyle impacts associated with end-stage renal disease. These are unique challenges, and as a part of our team, your ability to promote and support positive adjustment, rehabilitation and improved quality of life in these circumstances will be invaluable. We will rely on you to act as a liaison between patients and facility staff, as well as other service providers and social agencies to support comprehensive quality of care while you assess patients’ conditions and recommend adjustments to their plans of treatment.
